Ultra Chill Recap: Uniq Marketplace as a Product with Nicolas Bouillet

We’ve got an exciting show lined up for you today, with one of our product owners, Nicolas Bouillet, joining David to talk about our upcoming feature set in our Uniq Marketplace.

We believe that decentralized marketplaces, especially ones as open as Ultra’s, will be a big driver for games in the coming years. The Uniq Marketplace is foundational functionality that integrates deeply into our NFT standard, and allows users of our client to buy, sell, and transfer Uniqs that represent games and other digital assets.

We’ll be talking about why we built it, what it means for Ultra, and what our end goal for the Marketplace actually is.

The Marketplace as a product

Ultra is always about having a product-first perspective and we think that is why what we have built so far has been so comprehensive and so cohesive. It’s a big part of why we believe that ultimately Ultra will be so successful. There’s a larger vision there and it really shows through.

The marketplace is very much in this vein, and we wanted to talk first a bit about that.

Our approach to product development

Having Nicolas B. on is a unique opportunity for us to talk about how Ultra, as a company, approaches it’s product development cycle. I think that how we prioritize features is really interesting, and gives some insight into how we think together as a group.

First, David talks about how we prioritize one big feature over another at an executive level. Then Nicolas Bouillet talks a bit about how the product team transforms that business focus into an actionable set of functionality that our dev teams then go and build and about how the product team prioritizes features and makes things fit into a milestone.

The Uniq Marketplace as a business driver

The Uniq Marketplace is very much an engine of commerce within Ultra’s platform, as it’s the business driver for much of what we expect will happen on our platform. We thought it would be interesting to end with a segment on how we speak with partners and talk about how Ultra frames the Uniq Marketplace and its functionality.
