As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering developers and creators, Ultra has announced a significant upgrade to its Uniq (NFT) standard. Uniq V1 brings forth a range of enhancements that offer enhanced flexibility and control to those leveraging Ultra’s NFT standard.

Uniq V1 for Developers and Creators
The Uniq V1 standard encompasses a series of enhancements designed to amplify the potential of Uniq assets for creators and developers. The upgrades to our Uniq standard also opens the door for one of Ultra’s main features, game tokenization. Let’s dive into the specifics of what comes with Uniq V1:
Variable Metadata
This new capability allows Uniq creators to imbue each individual Uniq with distinctive characteristics and attributes, fostering greater levels of personalization and engagement for collectors and users alike. By introducing variable metadata customization, Ultra’s Uniq V1 standard amplifies the creative potential and dynamism of digital assets within Ultra’s ecosystem.
Tradability and Transferability: The Decision in Creators’ Hands
Uniq creators now have the freedom to independently set the tradability and transferability parameters on Uniqs. This pivotal enhancement allows creators to exercise full control over whether their Uniqs must be traded on the secondary marketplace with a desired minimum resale price, while also allowing free person-to-person transfers.
This functionality extends its relevance to a multitude of applications, including the establishment of virtual game identities and other innovative use cases within the digital asset landscape. This opens the door to ‘soulbound’ tokens, which are non-transferable digital tokens that could represent a wide array of data and information. A good example here would be a digital ID, which could showcase a player’s personal record in a game.
Locking Metadata
Creators now have the ability to lock a collection’s metadata, revolutionizing the way essential information associated with Uniq collections is authenticated. This capability ensures the integrity and authenticity of a collection’s metadata by preventing unauthorized modifications or tampering. By establishing a higher level of trust and security, creators can inspire confidence within their communities, elevating the value and desirability of their Uniq collections.
Locking Metadata is optional and can be done after Uniqs have been minted, giving asset creators more flexibility, perhaps locking the data after an asset’s content has been revealed.
Minimum Resale Price in USD
Creators now have the option to set a minimum resale price in USD on Uniqs. This game-changing functionality enables creators to maintain a level of control over the value of their digital assets, ensuring they are not undervalued or subject to market fluctuations. By establishing a baseline price, creators foster a sense of fairness, stability, and value in the trading and reselling of Uniqs.
While minimum resale prices can be set in USD, Uniqs are still purchased with UOS. The Uniq Standard smart contract works in tandem with Ultra’s on-chain oracle which provides public conversion rates in real-time to ensure the sale of a given Uniq succeeds only if it meets the creator’s set baseline price.
Introduction of Dynamic Metadata
This innovation allows for a more flexible approach, where certain metadata can be updated frequently without requiring on-chain verification. This allows developers to utilize traditional metadata for critical and trusted data while leveraging dynamic metadata for information that requires more flexibility and adaptability.
By incorporating dynamic metadata, developers gain the ability to distinguish between static and fluctuating data, enabling them to optimize their applications accordingly. For instance, essential information such as the stats of a sword can be stored as regular metadata, ensuring its authenticity and immutability through on-chain verification. On the other hand, data that varies over time, such as the number of goblins killed with that sword, can be categorized as dynamic metadata and directly managed by the game server.
These transformative enhancements grant creators a heightened level of power in shaping the narrative, presentation, and attributes of their digital assets within the Ultra ecosystem.
