Last weekend, Ultrain hosted an official meetup event in Seoul, Korea — a Gangnam style celebration, drawing a crowd of community members as big as Psy!

“WOW” — the correct response after watching the video above. A fine dining environment, filled with flowers and wine, is not your regular blockchain event! In fact, members of the Ultrain community team were equally surprised and thrilled by the venue, organized thanks to the effort of the local community members.

Some of the details in the venue were breathtakingly beautiful!

Ultrain touched down in Seoul on December 16th straight from Vietnam, to hold an event that would ignite the enthusiasm of the Korean community, winning praise from the local Kakao group.

Despite the bearish market pressure that has been prevalent throughout most of 2018, the Seoul community made sure to attend Ultrian’s meetup, not wanting to miss out on learning about the cutting edge of blockchain.

Participants filled the entire venue. They were quiet and focused, yet enthusiastic during the entire presentation, leaving the Ultrain team impressed by the earnest nature of the Korean community, even considering the interesting subject matter of the presentations.

Ultrain co-founder Emma Liao and chief cryptographer Husen Wang both looked fantastic in their evening wear, but delivered even more attractive speeches on Ultrain. Emma elaborated on the background of core team members, positioning of Ultrain compared to other blockchain 3.0 protocols, and introduced Ultrain’s future expansion plans for the global market.

Husen, armed with deep insight into the technical aspects of Ultrain, introduced the project’s technical architecture and consensus mechanism - RPoS. Husen also focused his speech on one of Ultrain's middleware – the true random number generator.

He talked about how Ultrain’s random number generation technology, available on the Ultrain platform, will benefit a beloved game in Korea: League of Legends, commonly referred to as LoL. True random number generation can help this particular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (which is as technical sounding as some blockchain projects) by randomly assigning the possibility of critical attack.

Take the two characters, Ahri and Darius, as an example. When Ahri attacks Darius, it uses Ultrain’s random number generation system, and combines it with Ahri’s private key to generate a unique random number. Based on LoL’s rules, there is a possibility that such an attack is a critical hit. When Darius attacks Ahri, it could also potentially execute a critical hit. Since the two users hold their own private keys, the two parties cannot predict the critical behavior. The process of generating random numbers is a deterministic random process, which means neither player can modify the probability of getting a critical, so the game can guarantee fairness to all players.

After the event, the Ultrain team had many in-depth discussions with attendees from a range of backgrounds: successful entrepreneurs, industry veterans, and even loyal fans who participated in Ultrain’s Korean events three times in a row! We were touched by how everyone in this community is pushing themselves to learn new things and engage on the front lines of innovation.

Ultrain International Community Development Strategy

We were most grateful to the team of managers in Ultrain’s local Korean community team, who delivered many unexpected surprises. Focus, competency, and capability, are the characteristics that impressed us most. It must be said that communication between people is still most effective when held face-to-face. And of course, travelling to Korea does come with other perks, such as barbecued octopus, fried chicken and local beer.

Emma organized for the Ultrain team to stay in Seoul for an extra day after the event, giving time for quality engagement with local community members and foster strong relationships. One of the most important strategies for creating an international community is to find a team of passionate community managers in the local scene, and build on the idea of “localization”. Ultrain plans to maintain a positive and reliable relationship with each team member, guiding each local community to continue expansion of the global Ultrain ecosystem.

Thank you for having us Seoul community – we can’t wait until the next time we are in your incredible city!
