Ultrain successfully ran its first official event last weekend in Ho Chi Minh City, celebrating the era of blockchain in the heart of the busy city.
Ho Chi Minh City, one of Vietnam’s biggest cities, is a bustling metropolis, full of friendly people, breathtaking landmarks, and tantalizing street food. This is what all travelers dream of — including Ultrain’s energetic CSO, Emma Liao! Emma launched the event to a crowd of local technologists, eager to learn about the cutting edge technology from China, backed up by the Ultrain team.
The event allowed Ultrain to see a side of Vietnam not normally advertised — a thriving technology community with a strong appetite for blockchain technology. Emma and the team quickly learned of a growing number of professionals training as DApp developers, as part of a movement to make Vietnam a Southeast Asian hub for third party developer services. Some attendees dubbed Vietnam “the new India” for the blockchain industry.
The meetup was attended by many blockchain industry practitioners and enthusiasts, several of them skilled developers, and all with a deep curiosity about this exciting new technology. The Ultrain team were very pleased to see that the local enthusiasm for blockchain technology is no less than any other country.
After explaining Ultrain’s positioning, team background and global strategy, Emma introduced our senior technical expert from Ultrain, Lei Honglu. Honglu presented Ultrain’s unique consensus mechanism — RPOS — as well as detailing the underlying technology stack, including smart contract deployment, the robust developer framework — Robin, and side-chain scalability mechanisms.
Emma often says that one of the key indicators of a successful meetup is the level of interaction between the speaker and audience. To get the creative juices flowing, the meetup dove into a mini workshop, with a focus on the wide range of potential applications that can be built on Ultrain. The audience was asked: “How do you think Ultrain’s blockchain technology can be applied to different industries?”. The group quickly broke into small teams — crunch time!
There was a great variety of answers provided by each team. They conducted in-depth analysis, tempered by heated discussions on blockchain’s application in the field of securities, finance and supply chain. Teams with the best ideas received prizes, but everyone who left that day took a great deal of new knowledge. The quality of discussion and depth of blockchain knowledge was a heartening sign the growth of the technology in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ultrain team believes that the connection established between us and the audience is very meaningful. It allows each participants to reidentify themselves, from simply another anonymous audience member, to knowing they hold a unique and valuable perspective on the blockchain industry. As Ultrain’s global community grows, so too will the value the community brings to the technology. Together, we take one step closer each day to the ultimate goal — a decentralized engine for the future’s business society.
