Video workshop | How to use UMA’s optimistic oracle to verify any truth trustlessly
UMA is an optimistic oracle (OO) that can verify any statement proposed on the blockchain. It tells smart contracts “things about the world” so contracts and markets asking for that data can be settled.
[See video workshop below]
The OO functions as a decentralized truth machine that includes human reasoning backed by economic incentives. It is flexible enough to handle ambiguity and expands what can be built in Web3.
UMA’s optimistic oracle secures a diverse ecosystem of Web3 applications, including cross-chain bridges, including our sister project Across, which is an optimistic, decentralized cross-chain asset bridge for Web3.
The OO also empowers and secures insurance protocols, prediction markets, and customizable DAO tooling products.
UMA’s OO is like a lego block that other projects and protocols can be built on top of.
But how do you get started with building on the OO or Across?
Here is an introductory video workshop led by UMA smart contract engineer John Shutt. This was recorded at ETHSanFrancisco in November.
