*Recently, the University of Miami earned a 4-star LGBTQ rating for being an inclusive campus!

The University of Miami’s LGBTQ Student Center is a nexus for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Regardless of where you are on your journey, we are here for you! Our programs and offerings include peer mentorship, a space to study and socialize, and a calendar full of events. We are the LGBTQ+ hub on campus, bringing together student organizations and leaders through our Program Advisory Board.

As one of the youngest centers in the country, we are committed to being on the cutting edge of identity-based work and to enhancing the university’s culture of inclusion and belonging. We believe our students are dynamic, resilient, and bring a variety of multiple and intersecting identities.

Visit us on the second floor of the Whitten University Center to study, relax with your friends, and learn more about the University of Miami’s LGBTQ+ life. Join us in making the UM community, and the world, a better place!

Faculty-Staff Mentorship

The University of Miami has a large network of LGBTQ faculty, staff, and administrators who are out and proud at work. Through the LGBTQ Mentorship Program, undergraduate students are paired with an employee mentor who offers support, guidance, and friendship.

Miami Beach Pride

Miami Beach Pride

The University of Miami demonstrates its support for the LGBTQ+ community by marching in the annual Miami Beach Gay Pride parade held each spring semester. All students are welcome to walk alongside the University of Miami pride float, decorated with UM spirit and a rotating theme that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Lavender Celebration

The University honors graduating LGBTQ+ students and allies by hosting an event that recognizes their leadership, achievements, and contributions to the campus community. Participants receive a rainbow graduation cord to wear at commencement, allowing them to showcase their pride as a distinguished member of the UM family.
