Umbrella Network Sponsors ExeedMe’s 2022 Gaming Hackathon to Support Web3 Innovation
We’re always excited to support new ideas, creativity, and great blockchain builds. That’s why Umbrella Network is excited to share that we are sponsoring ExeedMe’s Gaming Hackathon.
Along with Moralis, Polygon, Polkastarter, and SpiderDAO, Umbrella Network is a sponsor at the hackathon. This means that participants can win extra points (improving their chance of winning) by utilizing Umbrella Network’s products in their mobile games!
Participants can use either of Umbrella Network’s suite of products such as:
- Decentralized Oracles: To source a tamper-proof data feed for games such as trading simulators
- Uniform Random Number Generator: To generate and use randomness for various applications such as casino, gaming, NFT mints and more.
Umbrella Network’s Uniform Random Generator (uRNG) enables dApps and blockchain games that depend on random numbers to directly call RANDs into their smart contracts — and eliminate potential risks such as Man In The Middle (MITM) attacks that could potentially be game-breaking.
By simply calling RANDs via our uRNG, games can signal to their players that the random numbers used in the game are truly random, verifiable, and tamper-proof.
This would also earn the trust of players that are increasingly becoming wary of games with smart contracts that sometimes tilt the scales in the favor of the house.
ExeedMe endeavors to change the way people play games. Its play-to-earn gaming platform is built on blockchain technology, and now $40,000 in prize money plus guaranteed access to ExeedMe’s platform is up for grabs between now and the end of January.
Developers participating in the hackathon will showcase their skills before a panel of judges by creating innovative mobile applications based on premises like decentralized gaming, NFTs, and incorporating ExeedMe’s native $XED token. Bonus points will be awarded to teams that integrate sponsors’ technology into their applications.
On the sponsorship, John Chen, President at Umbrella Network said,
“We’re very excited to be sponsoring ExeedMe’s Gaming Hackathon. There are a lot of gamers on the Umbrella team, so we’re thrilled to have an opportunity to help spur the development of the Blockchain gaming space. We’re really looking forward to see what participants come up with in this hackathon, and perhaps some novel ways that our oracles and random generator can be used.”
Participants will be judged on the following criteria:
- Innovation, quality and uniqueness — It must be new, it must be good, and ExeedMe shouldn’t have seen it before.
- Likelihood of success — Does the game have mass appeal?
- Economy creation — It must have the potential to create its own economy and jobs within it.
- Web3 tooling — It should ideally tie DeFi/crypto and NFTs all into one.
The hackathon ends on January 31, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what participants will create.
