Weekly Recap

Hey Umbrellians,

We are closing in on the home stretch to launching on BSC. This was another development and testing heavy week, as the team spent a lot of time testing the switch-over of our smart contracts over to BSC Mainnet, finding and fixing various bugs within the system.

Additionally, we implemented new endpoints to retrieve available L2 data pairs and set up alerts for blocks not minted. Timestamps to our L1 and L2 data were also added in our Block Explorer. Finally, we added in new functionality to our staking portal, with additional multi-wallet support.

We also released our revised Roadmap for 2021. For the rest of the year, we will be focusing on 3 major objectives:

  1. To gain market adoption and real use case scenarios with applications as we grow our ecosystem
  2. To continue our path towards decentralization, with the growth of our validator network and development of decentralized governance, and
  3. To further our path towards multi-chain interoperability as we integrate into more blockchains.

For more details on the roadmap, check the medium post here.

Our friendly neighborhood Founding Partner Sam Kim also has been busy on the podcast circuit, speaking with a few over the past several weeks. If you haven’t listened to them already, check out two of those conversations, both released this past week:

DeFi Times — Umbrella Network — Securely Bringing Data On Chain

The Divi Crypto Podcast — The Progression of Technology with Sam Kim

And finally, we’ve been releasing some tutorials on our youtube channel. This week, check out a walkthrough of how to stake $UMB on Hadley Stream on our Staking Portal here.

That’s it for this week’s recap. Stay tuned for announcements this coming week around our community validator program, more news around our continued #RoadToMainnet, and much more!
