Soft boiled eggs

A 5-minute egg.

I don’t know about you but growing up in the USA I was told a few things. A major one being that undercooked eggs will kill you. OK, perhaps I am slightly exaggerating but I had never heard of soft boiled eggs before. I had heard of 5-minute eggs but I had no clue what they were talking about and no one in my family had a clue. Well, now I know.

All you have to do is put the egg in a pot with some cold water. Bring the water to a boil. Remove pot from burner, cover with lid and let sit for 4 to 5 minutes. Put the entire pot under cold water for a minute or two and remove eggs. The cold water cools the egg slightly and allows for easier peeling. Turns out my husband ate one of these pretty much every morning for breakfast growing up.

Try it and thank me later.
