A Reminder that #MuslimLivesMatter By Reuben Brand

In the wake of the tragic #ChapelHillShooting it became blatantly obvious, yet again, just how myopic the mass media lens really is.

When innocent men and woman are killed in cold blood, any person with a shred of intelligence can see that the senseless act of killing is generally labelled as murder. So please, someone enlighten me, why oh why does this not translate onto the pages of what we read as we ingest our daily fill of mainstream media?

Oh yes, I nearly forgot, some lives are apparently worth more than others.

It is eternally frustrating to continuously see the sanitisation of facts, depending on who committed the crime.

Sadly, Islam has become a hot topic for all the wrong reasons, the media magnifies Muslims when it serves their agenda and completely forgets them when it matters most.

May the three innocent victims of this senseless act of violence rest in peace.
