The Great British Bake Off Winner Finds Her Roots in BBC’s “The Chronicles of Nadiya”

--

Amidst rising Islamophobia in Europe, Nadiya Hussein has become one of the stars of British television. After winning the Great British Bake Off in 2015, and baking the cake for Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday celebration, she is coming back to the BBC with a much more personal show. “The Chronicles of Nadiya,” premiering August 24th is a 2 part show that follows Nadiya on a personal and culinary journey through Bangladesh. The show chronicles her first journey to her families homeland in 11 years. The Chronicles of Nadiya should offer a much needed new direction to the travel show standard of white men traveling to ‘exotic lands’ to meet and eat with the ‘locals.’ Check out the trailer here:

The show will be available for streaming online on the BBC website after the premier. For those outside of the UK we recommend using the Google Chrome VPN App Hola. Once you download Hola, set your viewing location to the UK from anywhere in the world as you navigate to the link below and you should be able to watch.
