Grace Under Fire

Leshia Evans,Baton Rouge protest, July 10,2016

There are moments in history that can be defined by a single snapshot; a picture that will travel around the world for viewers to analyze, discuss, and to reflect. For me, this picture represents grace under fire. This is an act of civil disobedience. This woman stands there, very stoic in her demeanor;I wonder what she must be thinking and feeling. Do the officers who approach her feel her presence? Do they decide whether or not to throw her to the ground, as their fellow officers look in wonder?

Someone, please explain to me why this hatred keeps rearing its ugly head? How many more snapshots of this ugly period in our history do we need to take before the madness stops?
