This toolkit seeks to assist advocates of all ages and experiences to better understand the importance of good mental health through information and practice.

Through discussion of mental health in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this toolkit evaluates the UN’s role in protecting mental health as well as general recommendations for better mental health practices.

The toolkit includes an in-depth discussion on what mental health, mental illnesses, and mental disorders are, how they affect the physical body, and what barriers certain marginalized communities face when it comes to mental health treatment.

After this discussion, this toolkit outlines general strategies to recognize the signs of “Advocacy Fatigue,” or burnout from consistent exposure to injustice, before offering basic coping strategies, activities, and resources that an advocate can utilize.
