MailRush is a cold email marketing software — it helps you do just that.

Team

The team of ~10 that’s building and working on MailRush is led by Jorge Moreno, the founder and CEO of the company. Jorge apparently doesn’t have much online presence, his LinkedIn still says he’s working as a manager for a different company.

I did manage to pull MailRush’s ProductHunt launch, dated 2 years back. It doesn’t have much votes but that’s okay, everyone has to start somewhere.

Pros

The primary concept of MailRush is to help you cold email your prospects, which is great because tools like this do one job and they do it great.

MailRush fits nicely in your workflow with a drag and drop email builder, personalization tools, email warming, drip sequences with A/B testing, and a SMTP on shared IP that’s included in all their plans, the team claims they monitor deliverability when using their shared IPs.

Cons

It’s not great for you if you’re looking for an all in one tool.

Yes, MailRush does help you with certain key actions in your outreach workflow like prospecting for example but that’s not their focus. MailRush also doesn’t cover multi-channel engagement, option to have a dedicated IP for SMTP on starter plans (which is essential), and some confusing daily vs monthly email sending limits.

Notable points

Most won’t like it but I personally liked how they included a SMTP (either shared/dedicated) in all their plans. I like the fact that I don’t have to pay a third party provider. The team has claimed they’ll monitor performance and switch IP’s accordingly. But only time will tell if that’s good or bad thing.

Another thing I noted was that MailRush’s Knowledge Base isn’t really a knowledge base, it’s a simple website page that follows a blog post format. The team might have plans for creating a real knowledge base later but I feel sorry for the folks who were anticipating answers when clicking them.

One thing I was concerned is that there was little information about the company, the product and the people working on it in general. I mean, for a product that was started in May 2019 and launched on PH 2 years ago, there’s very little info out there.

I was looking for changelogs, roadmaps, announcements etc but couldn’t find any. I don’t even know if they exist, even if they’re present I wasn’t able to find them, it should be accessible at least. The main reason I was looking for changelogs is because everything, including features and UI are the same from their Product Hunt launch. This raises a question, was the development halted for a long time in between? Or the team made granular changes that never made it to the changelogs?

Conclusion, summary and pricing

All in all, it’s great when it comes to sending and automating cold emails. Other aspects like prospecting, omnichannel campaigns, B2C reach outs are not focused on and are not actively supported by the team.

It’s for you:

  • If you want a tool that focuses heavily on sending cold emails and comes with a SMTP on shared/dedicated IP out of the box.
  • You want a simple clutter-free tool without complexities that distract you from doing your job.
  • You also want to save some money because MailRush’s lifetime plan is now live.

It’s not for you:

  • If you already use tools that position themselves as “all in one”.
  • If you’re looking for a product that’s constantly updated and worked on by a team with public releases
  • If you’re looking for an option to use your own SMTP, then MailRush isn’t right for you, custom SMTPs are not supported.
  • Looking for a cheap options with dedicated IPs. Dedicated IPs are only supported on the Premium plan (highest price tier).

Pricing

You can purchase MailRush in two different ways (links are my affiliate referrals):

  • A lifetime plan, yes pay one-time and keep it for life, that starts at $49 one-time. All you have to do is pay this small fee and the product is yours to keep for a lifetime. Buy MailRush Lifetime Plan Now →
  • Second option is to become a regular subscriber to the plans seen on their website. Regular pricing starts at $29 per-month and goes up from there with special packs for enterprises. Buy MailRush Monthly Plan Now →
