Europe
A sprawling land
Years of history and wars
Exciting stories to be told of battles won and lost
But one country
My ancestors country
Poland
Inheritance of traditions came from this place
Red and white on the flag
Polkas sung and danced
Pierogies and kielbasa eaten
A place rich with tradition
Wigilia on Christmas Eve
The breaking of the Oplatek
All of these traditions brought to the US from Europe
When my ancestors came over on a boat
But none of them lost
The Polish spirit lives just as strong in our family
As in did 100 years ago
