Typically, an item of ‘fast fashion’ is worn just seven times before it is thrown away, and most clothes end up in landfill — buried in the earth, or shipped to Asia to be burned in vast, polluting furnaces. Over 2500 Kg of clothing is disposed of in this way every single second of every day. After the Oil industry, Fashion is the second worst cause of pollution on the planet.
