Sometimes you don’t know where or when you’ll meet your next great friend and potential future colleague. In this case, it was at an “unconference” called The Lobby about eight years ago. Whit Bouck and I were on the same team for an activity and immediately became firm friends. Today, I’m thrilled to share that Whit is joining Uncork Capital as our new Board Partner and Go-to-Market (GTM) Advisor.

Whitney Bouck, Uncork Capital’s new Board Partner and GTM advisor.

Her résumé speaks for itself: 30+ years of building and scaling enterprise software companies, starting at Oracle and spanning leadership roles at Documentum, EMC, Box, HelloSign, and Dropbox. She’s steered multiple companies through IPOs, acquisitions, and critical growth stages. She’s served on the boards of Paycor, Trengo, Writer, and BlueOcean. In short, she is an absolute powerhouse!

Although we’ve known each other for years, our collaboration deepened when Whit became Insight Partners’ board observer for Mutiny (an Uncork portfolio company). Her feedback was so sharp and actionable that I found myself wanting to hit rewind on our board meetings just to take better notes (so thank you, modern AI meeting assistants!).

At Uncork, we’ve been thinking hard about how to best support our later-stage portfolio companies, so adding a Board Partner felt like a no-brainer. Whit will initially focus on a couple of high-impact companies — Crossbeam and Fountain — to refine the model before scaling her involvement. She’ll represent Uncork at board meetings, work closely with CEOs on GTM strategies, and bring her unique blend of operational expertise and strategic thinking to bear on some of our most exciting companies.

Whit’s career is a masterclass in navigating transitions and unlocking growth. She’s led three companies through IPO, facilitated two spin-offs, and orchestrated more than 15 acquisitions. That level of experience is hard to find, but what truly sets Whit apart is her ability to balance the rigor of execution with the art of inspiring teams. She’s been recognized as one of the Top 40 Women in Revenue and one of the World’s 100 Most Innovative CMOs.

Outside of work, Whit is a keen skier, passionate foodie, and author of Whit’s Kitchen, sharing recipes, wine pairings, and culinary adventures. Whether perfecting her Indian entrees or guiding a startup to scale, Whit brings the same care and attention to everything she does.

Uncork’s mission has always been to partner early, help with the hard stuff, and stick around to see companies thrive. With Whit on board, we’re doubling down on our commitment to bring unparalleled value to our founders. Her deep operational chops, strategic vision, and infectious energy make her the perfect addition to our team.

Please join me in welcoming Whit to the Uncork family!
