For instance, we had read a lot of reviews online on Hainan Airlines before our trip from New York to Beijing. A bit about Hainan Airlines

Hainan Airlines is a Chinese airline. It is headquartered at Haikou, China, and it has a hub at Beijing Capital International Airport as well as Haiku Meilan International Airport.

Being China’s fourth-largest airline in terms of its fleet size, Hainan Airlines has won the Skytrax 5-star airline award since 2010. And it was in 2016 that the airline was listed as one of the World’s Top 5 safest airlines.

The airline operates both International and domestic flights from Hainan to elsewhere. The airline completed its first intercontinental flight. It was in 1989 that the airline was established as Hainan Province Airlines, and in 1996, it resumed to its current form.

Airport and Lounge

The Airline is known to offer complimentary private limousine services to its business class passengers. Hainan Airlines flies out of Lax’s Terminal 2. There is a thing to note, though. Check-in desks are at the eastern end of the terminal, not near the Hainan sign curbside.

What are the meals like in the Hainan Airlines economy class?

When we traveled through Hainan Airlines, an extensive menu came as a pleasant surprise to us. But, if we talk about the quality of the food, it was satisfying, to say the least. We have certainly eaten better economy class food over the years. We won’t know it was terrible or anything, it was just too bland. And we could have tolerated the food quality, but what was unbearable was the attitude of the flight attendants. There was not one time we saw them smile. This attitude was a stark contrast to the incredibly friendly and engaging cabin crew.

By the end of the flight, we had already formed an opinion about this flight. According to our experience, even though there were a lot of minor issues with the grumpy crew, Hainan Airlines is quite good.
