The term “Viral Marketing” has been around for quite some time now and along the way, it got misused, mixed up and being confused with other terms like Internet and Online Marketing, SEO Marketing and even MLM.

In this article, titled Viral 2.0, Jonah Berger talks about the next stage of going viral. Jonah Berger is the James G. Campbell Associate Professor of Marketing at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the author for the book Contagious: Why Things Catch On.

Viral marketing is definitely more than online marketing. It is an art to drive contagious behaviours and using key messages embedded into emotional stories, driving shares is more important than driving views.
