If you’re looking for a an anthology of short stories with a touch of the Indian subcontinent, then this is the book for you. This is a delightful collection of emotions and an intricate peek into feelings and thought-provoking words.

The author superbly narrates about the mother who goes to any extent to hide a mysterious secret from her past, an abusive husband and his ultimate control over his wife, sensitive topics such as racism, bullying and incest, the journey to stardom (always fraught with difficulties), the misery of a newly wedded wife in an alien land, an inseparable couple and their sacrifice, the little girl who who feels alienated on the birth of her brother, parental pressure and expectations and lastly the non-living immovable mammoth, who does the unthinkable for a human being.

Each story is different with various themes, depicting raw and vulnerable emotions, leaving an impact in the mind of the reader. The characters are compelling and the plots are simple, yet superb! Short stories are difficult to pull of and the author does it in style.
Simply written, but fascinatingly done; this is a must read for those who like human stories with a twist.

My rating: 5/5
