The SalikLakbay Solutions Mapping Adventure Field Guide (beta)
A practical guide to conduct your very own Solutions Mapping Adventure.
Solutions Mapping is one of the principal methodologies of the UNDP Accelerator Labs that allows for a deeper immersion into the dynamics of grassroots communities. The goal is to identify and work with grassroots innovators who have addressed some of the most pressing social challenges in their communities.
SalikLakbay is a combination of two (2) Filipino words: Saliksik, to explore or research; and, Lakbay, to journey or go in an adventure. The idea is for a group of curious individuals embarking on an epic journey of identifying creative solutions to answer a pressing need in the communities. These solutions are referred to as “diskarte” — a Filipino way of creatively solving problems in response to practical problems within one’s social sphere.
This FIELD GUIDE has been designed to help you understand the basic concepts, principles, and process of Solutions Mapping. This guide draws and builds from the rich experience of the 60 global accelerator labs and the UNDP AccLabs support team based in New York.
