#4. Have an open mind

“To assume is to limit the mind to one way of viewing, when by nature our perceptions should be infinite.”

The biggest mistake we can make is to generalize the experiences that we have had/heard about in our childhood or in any other learning environment where we had ‘taught’ previously, and to arrive at conclusions and assumptions even before we have interacted with our learners. Every learning environment is like a thumbprint, so unique in it’s dynamism.

Every classroom is not a minefield. It is not a bed of roses either. In order to put forward the best (of our abilities), we should be open-minded yet mentally prepared to address any situation.

Remember, assumption is different from anticipation.
