Ahh, this takes me back to my days in college when I was studying Epistemology & Ancient Scepticism.

The “OG” sceptical notion of ataraxia, developed by early Greek philosophers — the Stoics, like Pyrrho and Sextus Empiricus — may be the remedy here…

A person who with strong ataraxia has mastered the emotions and can rise above the ordinary difficulties that we all encounter in life … Ataraxia isn’t necessarily pleasurable — it’s [a temporary sense of] calm.
