This isn’t the seedy underbelly of Medium, rather, a place to be a little bit blunt, almost bare faced. On display, will be a certain vulnerability that doesn’t come from being profound but from being unabashed. Unabashed about money, love, family and living in general.

We all know that in today’s world of innovation, it’s not enough to be book smart, to have the best grades, to have been tagged as high IQ in school.

In the real world, to succeed, you need more than book smart, you need more than technical knowledge.

You need soft skills.

But what soft skills make the difference and why do high-IQ people in particular struggle with these skills?

I will talk about the skills and explain the reason behind the limitation for a certain subset of people.

But before we go ahead, I must highlight that as a strong believer in the ideology of growth mindset, I believe these skills are attainable by almost everyone. So if you notice you struggle with any of these skills, be reassured of the possibility of improvement.

Let’s get into it then.

The 3 soft skills that make the difference.
