False Light
Short Reflection
They always fall for the wrong guys,
Turn heart broken, traumatized,
All that’s left for me are pieces of their former selves,
They play by this façade of being innocent and harmless,
Full of light, flawless,
Only to deceive me, the man that came with open arms,
Good intentions, open mind, swollen heart,
When you’ve lost him, what do you search for?
What drives you?
Is it the pursuit of love or survival?
Though you’ve been operating in the latter for majority of your adult life,
It’s all you know..
Unwilling to heal, you look within your now “false light”,
and repeat the cycle for the years to come,
No end in sight.
