We have been working in Education for quite some time.

We teach. We learn. We grow. We are enamoured with Education. But we also stress, sadden and sometimes even fume when we see how much it still fails.

We see too many gaps.

The gap between teachers and students. Between schools and society. Between academic curriculum and professional growth. Between secondary and higher education. Between university and the first job. Between the nth and the nth +1 job. Between rich and poor. Between private and public.

The educational gaps around us are numerous, unfair and at times wicked. As educators, it is our responsibility to bridge those gaps.

In this blog, we aim to expose some of the most prominent gaps in education.

We will give suggestions and highlight good examples of initiatives that successfully close those gaps.

We will be mainly covering the following 5 areas:

1 The school-university gap: How should youth prepare for better and more informed choices about which majors/study programs to follow

2 The education-career-path gap: How should youth look at their own personal and career development given the uncertainty and continuous change of professional demands?

3 The university-employer gap: How can educational institutions ensure a better connection with employers to more effectively prepare young (and not so young) learners for their future jobs?

4 The rich-poor gap: How can we safeguard that everyone, regardless of their origin and economic position, can have a fair chance of accessing high-quality education?

5 The career change gap: How can experienced professionals educate themselves for a more agile career path with multiple and even radical transitions?

It is our goal to invite others in our journey and collectively contribute towards a better Education ecosystem. One that promotes impact, ensures equity and prepares our students for a life-long journey of learning.

Together we can Ungap Education.
