Align all vertices on a line

Often times when using the multi cut tool to add edges to a polygon you end up with poorly aligned vertices. Thankfully there are many ways to fix this.
Method 1 — Scale Tool
Step 1) Select the vertices
Step 2) Change to Scale tool and scale them in together, in the desired axis.
Method 2 — Component Editor
Step 1) Select the vertices
Step 2) Open the Component Editor
Windows > General Editors > Component Editor
Step 3) Go to the polygons tab
- Once there left click on the axis you want to align. You will notice the values are close but not all the same (hence not all vertices are aligned).
- After clicking on the axis you can then type in a number (just pick any of the numbers listed, in our case let’s enter the first value: 1142.668).
Method 3 — Snap align
Step 1) Select the vertices
Step 2) Double click on the move tool to open the settings
Step 3) Uncheck option “Retain component spacing”
You will find this under ‘Move Snap Settings’.
Step 4) Lock the axis to move the vertices in and snap them to any point.
- To lock the axis simply left click on the arrow for that axis (the arrow will turn yellow to represent the active state).
- Then hold down v (snap to vertices) and middle click on any other vertices.
Conclusion
Done.
