Leading the way to inclusion
The Innovation Services’s Diversity and Inclusion project “Reflections” advances efforts to drive cultural change within UNHCR and the wider humanitarian eco-system to increase diversity, inclusivity, and gender equity.
The project seeks to dig beneath the surface of our conversations around inclusion to understand how we innovate in the space of inclusion. We have reached out to people inside and outside of UNHCR, where vibrant discussions are ongoing, to find the stories and experiences that support the drive for structural and behavioural change.
From gender equality and power structures, to feminism and ‘the field’, Sweta draws on her rich experience at UNHCR to give her take on diversity in the organisation. Examining structures of authority, and communication as a signpost for power dynamics, this interview challenges us to drive forward work culture in a spirit of self-care.
Sweta asks how can we manage our workflows better to give diversity more space to grow, and explores how to uphold values in challenging political environments.
