Nominations are now open for Australia’s biggest and best awards for Gen Z students.

For our members, value currently comes in the form of discounts, giveaways, and content.

“As the leading platform worldwide for connecting students and brands, it was time for UNiDAYS to step up and celebrate our youth audience the way they deserve,” Prue Thomas, UNiDAYS ANZ GM, says of the inaugural awards, which run nationally until Dec 30 (winners will be announced Jan 27, 2020).

Before we stepped up, we consulted the stats.

Our recent survey (in partnership with Pollinate) of 3,000 Aussie Gen Z students uncovered three major things on their minds:

Will I get a job? It’s competitive and overwhelming.

Why don’t people take me seriously? Legitimacy and respect can be hard to come by.

What does the future hold? Independence and identity are focus areas.

“It’s been amazing and encouraging to see the response from partners,” Prue Thomas, UNiDAYS ANZ GM says.

We and our partners are in a position to not only acknowledge and address those concerns, but also to celebrate, empower, and reward Gen Z.

“Students are the future,” says Thomas. “But the time is now to embrace what they’re about and applaud their achievements.”

We’ve gone about that via six award categories, which cover the areas of creativity, activism, fashion, business, innovation, and health.

Meet the six categories.

Each category has a relevant sponsor attached, as well as a hefty prize.

The Bailey Nelson Creative Champion. The winner will receive a creativity-driven, invitation-only internship.

The Contiki World Leader. The winner will go on an adventure tour in Cambodia and Laos, plus receive a one-month content-creation mentorship.

The Hello Molly Trendsetter. The winner will co-style a 2020 campaign shoot on-location with the Hello Molly Creative Team, take over the brand’s Insta, and get an exclusive tutorial on fashion flatlays.

The Samsung Innovation Sensation. The winner will receive a Galaxy Note10+, Galaxy Tab S6 Wifi 256GB, Galaxy Tab S6 keyboard cover, and Galaxy Active2.

The HelloFresh Health Hero. The winner will receive a two-week, paid internship, plus a free subscription for a month.

The Microsoft Biz Whiz. The winner will receive a Surface Laptop 3.

“It’s been amazing and encouraging to see the response from partners, who clearly recognise the vast potential of today’s youth and are keen to see them get ahead,” Thomas says.
