New Hire: Cara Szellemes
Over the past 10 years, Cara’s professional career has focused on working with organisations on strategic content marketing and community development projects across tourism, finance, tech, engineering, academia, non-profits and government.
As a marketer, she’s worked with Queensland Science, Workup Queensland, The Woodford Folk Festival, Food Connect Foundation, Content Snare, MissingSchool, Synergy8, the National Archives of Australia (with a content agency), GHD (the engineering company not the hair appliance) and Civic Ledger. She also founded a (mildly successful but ultimately unworkable) tech startup, Writally, which was backed by Bluechilli and she has a deep understanding of and passion for the tech ecosystem, innovation and startups.
Cara has contributed to major digital sites like Waterworld Magazine, Social Media Examiner, Problogger, Content Marketing Institute, and Smart Company.
In her spare time Cara works on her social venture 180Selfcare and likes to hike up mountains, make music and art, and hang out with her three boys. And, as a woman with ADHD and a mother to kids on the spectrum, Cara is an advocate for neurodiversity and mental health.
To help introduce Cara into our community, we conducted a short interview with her. Please enjoy!
1. What excites you about Unido?
Blockchain technology will drive future financial markets, that is clear, but there are very few robust options for enterprises to enter the crypto markets at present. Most online crypto wallets are geared towards retail investors, so the opportunity space is massive. I am personally looking forward to using Unido for business transactions and DeFi investment and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the enterprise crypto market.
2. What the some of the milestones you look forward to?
I am looking forward to our public launch, coming soon, and I’m excited for us to get more involved in the blockchain community in the coming year.
3. What are some of the challenges you are looking to tackle?
The biggest challenge for the marketing team is really the education piece. I think it’s going to be crucial to educate non-crypto native investors and SMEs, particularly with growing interest in the metaverse and NFTs from that space.
I’ve seen more and more influencers (not crypto influencers) promoting creator coins and metaverse property investment, so we can’t ignore it. The non-crypto-natives are coming sooner than we might think and we need to be ready for them.
4. Where do you see Unido in 5 years and how will it get there?
I think Unido will be well established as a white label solution within five years, as more and more banks and financial institutions take on providing access to crypto assets to their customers. I think $UDO’s price will reflect the success of its core products. We are early in the race to develop SME crypto custody solutions, so will be exciting to see how the technology develops. A lot has changed in the past five years and a lot will change in the next five years.
5. Any last thoughts or words for Unido Community?
I love the passion of our Unido community for Unido and for decentralized finance in general. You are the pioneers of our financial future.
Unido offers enterprise-level crypto self-custody solutions for SMEs, sophisticated corporations and institutions that want to leap into crypto, invest in DeFi and provide crypto access to their customers.
Our technology is based on a state-of-the-art fragmented private key-signing engine that enables enterprises to distribute transaction signing at the blockchain level. That, combined with our user-friendly dashboard and point-and-click business tools, provides enterprises with the level of corporate governance workflow and security they require to confidently do business on the blockchain.
