The UTOK 2025 Conference on Consciousness
It is well-known that the hard problem of consciousness remains one of the great mysteries in science.
A new approach to the problem is emerging based on a metatheoretical synthesis that bridges 4e cognitive science, psychology, psychotherapy, and the philosophy of mind.
On April 25–26, 2025, an online conference will be held to present it. Registration is $25 and here is the link. For a flyer about the conference you can share with others, see here.
Extended Naturalism has been jointly developed by Professors Gregg Henriques and John Vervaeke.
They will be present on the model and will be joined by many leading scholars who will offer commentary and related and alternative perspectives.
As a lead up to the conference, Gregg and John are producing a series of 10 essays that describe the key components that make up Extended Naturalism. Here are the first five essays.
The next five essays will be posted shortly. This table, shared in the essay packet, summarizes how EN shifts the current frame and provides a new, extended philosophy for untangling the world knot that is consciousness and science.
We are very excited about this event and would love to see you there!
