With today being the first hearing on January 6th, I feel that we need a recollection and analysis of what has been released so far regarding the issue. The goal of the January 6th hearing is to prove that Donald Trump was trying to usurp the presidency by force. The goal is to shine light on how Proud Boys, and likely other far right militia groups, were behind the insurrection on January 6th. Ultimately, the hearings should debunk much of the conspiracy theories surrounding the January 6th insurrection.

So what are some of the conspiracy theories? Possible members of Antifa or BLM at January 6th insurrection. There are multiple fact checks which debunks the notion that members of Antifa would even be present (here and here). However, if you are prominent on social media websites or gaming applications (like Discord), you can catch a totally different picture than what media outlets will depict. To get a better idea of what I’m talking about, you should read the Rolling Stone’s article on Jayden X.

The photo from above is from a source unknown on a discord server that Jayden X either owns or takes part in. There are several photos where members are discussing what happened while they were present at the capitol. Some claim to be wearing Trump hats in order to “blend in” the crowd. To their belief, there were some people that would be classified as Anti-Trump. However, I’m certain that all of the photos I have regarding their discussions would not constitute proof that “Antifa” or “Anti-Trumpers” were present at January 6th. That’s why I don’t intend to share all of them.
