In a world where*
- Aid provided in exchange for data

How does a day look like when we travel?

I am super stressed! The plan was to travel to France for the holidays but the travel insurance company refused to cover my travel since I’ve stopped using my smart cutlery. They don’t care that the food database linked to the cutlery doesn’t work for non-European diets. Apparently, I am a high-risk traveler now. I guess I’m going to need to travel locally.

4 days later

In the train now, finally headed to Stavanger. Not too bad, it’s not France, but the Fjords are no compromise either. My watch had recommended 2 plans for me — one where I get to eat freely but need to stay in the city and walk everywhere but the mountains are a health risk) and another one where I risk going to the mountains, but first I enroll in a crash fitness program for a week. I don’t get a mountain pass unless I do. I’m thinking I’ll check out the local data clubs and see if I can find a way around this. Maybe swap watches in exchange for..? Enough of this, time to enjoy the train ride for now.

*the characteristics of this world were collaboratively defined by the team during the workshop. In the following article, you can find more details about the workshop activities.
