A story written by Denise during the workshop we ran at IxD21

In a world where*
- More people trying to take unexplored paths.
- Location tracking is normal / technology used to map all visited locations in the world
- Rules in places to promote responsible photography.

How does a day look like when we travel?

Today I have to attend a responsible photography online course before I can go on my summer vacation. The government has brought in new rules for all citizens to understand the responsibilities we have when visiting a new location to be photographed that is not geo mapped on their system. Since the invention of the disco camera, too many people have been trying to find new locations to shoot, that social unrest and disregard for nature and our landmarks, have brought about a photography ban without a new photo travel visa. The visa will bring order and try to control the movement of people and how they interact and react at new locations.

I miss the days when we could travel where we wanted when we wanted, and take photographs freely. Having to find new locations to visit within the new guidelines, is becoming so difficult and now with having to undertake a course to teach us how to do it, takes all the fun out of photography and travel.

*the characteristics of this world were collaboratively defined by the team during the workshop. In the following article, you can find more details about the workshop activities.
