Internship for Engineering Students
In the current scenario, interns for engineering students plays a vital role to develop their career in right path.The low-employability levels are attributed as much to the lack of requisite skills as the falling demand in the industry. According to my point of view,it would be better that the students start their intern from second year.It is not that they just start their intern,they should also concentrate on choosing their internship in a right and reputed company.
Those companies provide projects for students and mold them in such a way the students inculcate all developing activities in that project clearly which helps them to hire those students to their companies.They make students think out of box.I had a chance of meeting a student in the last vacation and he shared his view on internship,I would like to share it here.
Eg. A student who interned in a reputed company,had to undergo a project and they was very much impressed by his activities so they made him as the ambassador for the company and college .Finally after his graduation ,he was placed in the same company.
Every student in technical institute should undergo three internships each spanning four to eight weeks before completion of his/her under-graduation course. The responsibility will be on the institute to help students find a suitable industry for the internship.
The internship is not only for placements it also helps in higher education.An effort to improve human resources quality in higher education can be done through an internship program. This program is important for the graduate student to enhance their self-development and entrepreneurship ability. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of internship course on the student’s achievement, particularly of their professional competencies.The students ,valuable insight to find their internships might be able to connect you with opportunities in the future.Nowadays,internship had made compulsory to fill the gap so that they become suitably employable.
Generally the internships could provide “extended job interview” to observe a students skill and performance at low risk and low cost to determine how the students fit into the culture and work in future.Always the internship program must mutually benefit the employer and interns.
As engineering has various disciplines,different students can choose their internship in their particular domain and develop themselves.
There are many reputed companies that provide internship to develop students skills and make them “survival of the fittest”.There are numerous options for the engineering graduates to get their interns in different disciplines and different technologies in Chennai. For eg: CSE students can enter into their technical areas.
As a whole the internship program is the one which helps to remove unemployability in our country and make students exposed to different skills.It not only helps in choosing their career but also pursue their higher education abroad and do their part time jobs at the same during their education.I think by reading this article one will know the importance for internship for engineering students.
