After a long selection process, we are pleased to announce that Uniris has been awarded the label for the management of secure access for major French sports events until 2025 !

The two solutions, Uniris Public Blockchain and Uniris biometric authentication have been validated to allow forgery-proof authentication without privacy disclosure.

What does this label allow ?

This label is provided by experts (Security/Biometrics) based on the Uniris (team experience, research/innovation, finance, etc.) due diligence. This Label is granted to the Uniris solutions for a period of 5 years to provide secure access to all significant International events.

For the very first time, Blockchain scope is not limited to the usual use-cases like supply chain but also includes critical and financial applications for an official and global mega event with millions of participants.

“The LABEL, led by the Strategic Committee of the Security Industries Sector (CSF) part of the French National Council of Industry, aims to identify solutions that can contribute to the security of major events. All the labeled solutions will make it possible to build an industrial base of offers, supporting the growth and work of the sector.”

“Following a Call for Expression of Interest, the LABEL is awarded by the CSF after examination of the application by a group of independent experts, including business experts, users of solutions for the security of major events, as well as technical experts. It is granted for a period of 5 years.”

What are the possible applications associated with this label ?

Uniris technology has made it possible to provide innovative and completely new applications, providing a solution that is accessible to all, integrating identity, scalability and new smart-contracts features.
Uniris technology allows full panel of physical & internet access management — sometimes requesting real “body” identity of someone (security agents, VIP, etc.) for access to critical areas and sometimes just an IoT or QR Code identification to proceed pre-provisioned payments to event shops.
No compromise has been made on decentralization as described by some of the first blockchains. With a permissionless network capable of banishing any specific untrustworthy nodes, the Uniris network is able to handle 90% of malicious miners without any risk of fraud (<10^–9).

As depicted in the picture below, every access is managed by one specific smart-contract using group of people, sometimes requesting biometric authentication and at other times just a QR Code or a NFC id (from smartphone for example).
Since each smart-contract is upgradable and the keys shared between several authorized groups, it becomes easy to manage all the accesses, their modification and their trustability thereby a security agent won’t have access to private information of visitors but he will be able to check if a specific person needs an additional frisking.

How can it work without privacy disclosure and how biometrics works without storing keys ?

More than just the GDPR compatibility, Uniris solution is based on privacy safeguards. That means, contrary to all other solutions, the segregation of duty is based on strong encryption → right management is not anymore managed by a role inside a DB but directly by strong encryption allowing a group to update a smart-contract and other to access the data without any risk of privacy disclosure.

The image below shows the magic of this technology that does not need to store a person’s biometric (or derived) data to irrefutably authenticate them. Identification is no longer based on something to remember or an object to possess but on a patented technology that uses the body itself. Simply put, the venous network of one or more fingers will automatically generate a series of keys whose locks will be used to encrypt the data — this key being completely deleted immediately after use — so that as soon as anyone presents a known finger, it will unlock the lock of the associated data and then allow that person to be irrefutably identified — as the venous network is unique for each person and no social media like a Facebook photo can reveal its content.
