What teams are based in Unity Brighton?
Unity Brighton is home to an eclectic mix of Unity teams, including Support, Engineering, Documentation, R&D content, Sales, HR and Recruitment. A true reflection of the city, we’re a multicultural group of over 250 people — and we’re growing fast! We’re a social office, with people from different teams regularly catching up over a game of pool or a cup of coffee.
Our office space is fantastic, and was designed, not only to reflect the city but to reflect how we work! As a result, we’ve got plenty of communal space to catch up in or if you just need a change of scenery. We’ve lots of meeting spaces too, and dedicated areas for VR and gaming.
What activities have you been part of at Unity Brighton?
- Our Workplace Experience (WE) team put on a delicious breakfast spread of pancakes this year for Pancake Day
- Following the success of 2021’s virtual wreath making workshop, in December 2022 the Workplace Experience team held a hugely popular live workshop to help bring in the festive mood to the office!
- Virtual coffee tasting was a lot of fun, and a great activity to wake us up! On that note we also had an in-office barista training session with Pelicano coffee
- We took part in a virtual pottery evening where we had all the equipment sent to us, and joined a Zoom lesson where we made little trinkets, vases, dishes and more!
- Friday socials are a regular occurrence where we get to catch up with each other over a spread of delicious food and drinks
What are your favorite perks of the Unity Brighton office?
- It’s hard to walk very far in the Brighton office without running into some delicious snacks and drinks (hello ice cream freezer)
- Every floor has a variety of different spaces to meet, chat, play games, play instruments, or just chill out for a moment and reset. Very handy both for work and after work.
- Our very own 4th floor bar is the heart of our weekly socials, complete with table tennis and table football, board games, and a full size Espresso machine!
Where are your favorite local points of interest?
Brighton has plenty to offer! Nestled between the sea and the South Downs National Park, its great location allows us to take advantage of both the local countryside and the bustling town and beach. There are far too many things to mention here but below are a few choice sites to visit.
- The Royal Pavilion: an iconic building with great history dating back to King George IV
- Brighton Pier: a great way to spend the afternoon, either on the rides or in the arcade
- I360: a new addition to Brighton’s skyline and a great way to see Brighton from a different angle
- The South Downs National Park: a beautiful and ecologically diverse nature reserve sits on our doorstep in Brighton, accessible by a 15 minute bus ride or through several scenic walking routes, the chalk grasslands found here are rarer than rainforest!
- The Lanes: Brighton’s famous shopping area where you can buy anything from a diamond ring to a Hemp bag!
What are the commuting options to Unity Brighton
There are lots of ways to get to Unity Brighton:
- Train: our Brighton office is a 5 minute walk from Brighton train station
- Car: we have some (limited) underground car parking spaces onsite
- Bike: Brighton is very bike friendly! We have secure underground bike storage if you choose to cycle in
- Bus: being a very green city Brighton’s bus network spans the whole city (and beyond) and runs frequent services, with many also running through the night
