What activities have you been part of at Unity Montreal?

The Montreal Office Summer Party: this took place in LaRonde, the largest amusement park in the province of Quebec where Unity had an exclusive 2 hours in the park before it opened to the public! The rides were absolutely terrifying and it was a lot of fun spending time with our colleagues and friends.

Biercredi”: Happy Hour with a Montrealer’s Twist. A weekly Wednesday treat that lures all office goers with offerings of tasty drinks (lots of non-alcoholic options too!) as well as a spread of food.

What are your favorite perks of the Unity Montreal office?

  1. The Food!: forget spending an hour or two every week preparing your homemade lunches and instead indulge in catered lunches that never disappoint!
  2. Pool Table & Foosball Table: playing pool and foosball are great ways to break up my day and spend time with other colleagues in the Montreal office across different teams
  3. Bunk Beds & various unconventional seating areas: with the recent opening of the sixth floor, office goers now have access to the most trendy seating area yet. For a change of scenery I like working from the cocoon of our gray pod-like sofa chairs or from the top of our bunk bed seating area.
  4. Snacks. we have an abundance of delicious and healthy snacks always on offer in the office, from fresh fruit to top notch granola bars, to the freshest and tastiest bagels.

Where are your favorite local points of interest?

These places are extremely close to the office — within 5 minutes walking distance!

  1. Knox Taverne: a convenient 2 minute walk from the office. Here you can find tasty food and great drinks
  2. Allez Up (Climbing Center): if you’re a beginner indoor climber or a climbing enthusiast, this center is a great place to push your limits. In my experience, bouldering or rock climbing are intense workouts that I definitely recommend!
  3. Lachine Canal Nautical Centre: located just along the Lachine Canal, H20 Adventures offers boat rentals ranging from kayaks and canoes to pedal boats. It’s a great area to spend time on the water and enjoy the summer weather!

These places are located in downtown Montreal:

  1. Old Port of Montreal: whether you’re just in the mood for a stroll along the waterfront or busying yourself with over 20 activities to pick from, the area has a lot to offer! The Old Port is also home to “La Grande Roue de Montréal”, a Ferris wheel right on the water which offers a great views of the surroundings from the top
  2. Montreal Museum of Fine Arts: the oldest and largest art museum in Canada displays a collection of 45,000 pieces including paintings, sculptures and more
  3. La Belle et la Boeuf: a great burger joint located right on the always bustling Sainte Catherine street

What are the commuting options to Unity Montreal?

If you’re like most Montrealers, chances are you like to avoid the daily grind of rush hour traffic and take public transportation. Charlevoix metro station located on the STM green line opens up within 4 blocks of the office. A 10 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride are always options depending on the weather (Bus 57 picks you right outside the revolving doors).

For those who have to travel much longer distances to get into the office or simply enjoy the trip by car, reserved parking is available, but there is a waiting list. Street parking is always an option as well.

Finally for those who enjoy taking in the fresh air by biking to work, you can park your bike in the large open space garage located at the corner of Shearer and St-Patrick.
