What teams are based in Unity San Francisco?
Since the SF office is Unity’s HQ we pretty much have people from any team you can think of! This can include but not limited to Recruiting, HR, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and more, and also includes most of our Execs. Despite being our HQ, SF is actually only our 3rd biggest office after Montreal and Austin.
What activities have you been part of at Unity San Francisco?
Our Amazing Work Experience (WE) team has put together numerous happy hours for the local SF office. The most recent one was Star Wars themed for May 4th. We had “Bantha Milk” cocktails, sweets, trivia, as well as an array of other activities planned for us. It’s always a blast and a great time to meet people outside your team!
We often have pop ups come to the office as well. For example, we had a local mochi donut shop called Third Culture come into our office where they gave a short presentation about their bakery and handed out various flavored mochi donuts. It was a nice way to learn more about the bakery as well as find a new place to get some delicious mochi donuts from.
What are your favorite perks of the Unity San Francisco office?
- The atmosphere and attitude of everyone in the office. Everyone is just genuinely very friendly!
- Free lunch as well as snacks and drinks are always a plus when going into the office. Not having to think or worry about what to eat in the middle of my workday is honestly amazing! The snack and drink selection is very diverse, and our WE team are always open to feedback and new requests/ suggestions
- We have a cool game room, VR room, pool table, and rooftop. It’s great for socializing and unwinding with some co-workers after a long day of work!
Where are your favorite local points of interest?
We are right in the center of SF on the Main street known as Market Street. You can find tons of restaurants, bars, and cafes really close to us!
- The Bird: best fried chicken sandwich shop in town, their curly fries and beers are lovely as well
- The Westfield Mall: just two blocks down Market street from our office if you are in the mood for some shopping, there is also a great food court in the basement as well
- Ferry Building: As the name states it’s where you can get onto a ferry but the actual building itself if also made up of a ton of local shops that sell various goods including a mushroom especially shop
- Kona’s Street Market: an amazing cocktail bar with cute decor right next to our office
- Uno Dos Tacos: really popular Taco spot just couple minutes walk away from the office
- Mazarine Coffee: a local coffee shop/cafe with some yummy pastries as well
What are the commuting options to Unity San Francisco?
There are a few commuting options since our office is so central:
- Take the local subway, BART, to stop at either Montgomery St or Powell Street station and walk 5–7 min from the stop to the office
- Come in from South SF by Caltrain either stop at Millbrae and take the BART rest of the way or stop at SF and take the 30,45, or 30S bus to Market street
- If you are coming across the Bay, you can also come in Via BART or Ferry and walk to the office
