The seventh monthly update report from the Universal Protocol Alliance

We’d like to extend a Happy New Year to our global community! As we closed out 2019, we looked back at the monumental year for Universal Protocol. From the launch of Universal Bitcoin (UPBTC), Universal Dollar (UPUSD), Universal Euro (UPEUR), and UPT, we have had a busy year creating and releasing these stablecoins and tokens to be used amongst Universal Protocol Alliance members.

One of our primary goals in December was to begin the process of having all Universal Protocol Alliance member organizations release the details of how UPT will be incorporated into their respective ecosystems. The first Universal Protocol Alliance member to release these details was Cred, who announced the various ways that UPT can be utilized with Cred products and services. Stay tuned for the next announcement in this series, which will feature an announcement from Uphold, who will announce how UPT has been incorporated into the Uphold ecosystem, and the functionality users can expect when utilizing UPT with Uphold.

Universal Protocol is also close to launching our promised transparency page, which will list the current circulation of UPUSD, UPBTC, and UPEUR. This transparency page will always be current when viewing the page, and will list the total volume of UP tokens and stablecoins that are currently held in the Uphold reserve. Additionally, we are close to announcing a new Universal Protocol alliance member to our ranks. During December, we analyzed how best to move forward into 2020, and what blockchain companies would be beneficial to the Universal Protocol Alliance, and have settled on a few prospective partners to join us in bringing the next 100 million users to blockchain. As part of this discussion, we confirmed our commitment to launch the next UP stablecoin in the coming weeks.
