Wednesday May 18th Universe Marketplace Update
Data migration is blocked due to some internal and unforeseen issues — unrelated to development.
A lot has occurred after the beta version of the marketplace launched. In the last few weeks, both the project, personal lives and the crypto space were stirred up and adjusted. Some of the changes are positive while other happenings are unfortunate.
Going back a few weeks ago, we identified a point in our DAO that was becoming centralized. For the sake of security we devised a plan to decentralize it without sacrificing security. While the plan was put in effect, the unthinkable happened. A core team member has passed away. The person was the center of that plan. For personal reasons and to respect the person’s family — we won’t be disclosing who exactly it is.
We were able to get most of the plan carried out but didn’t make the finish line. Our founders are in touch with the services we need to get this situation sorted out. We are furiously working towards unblocking the releases.
We have not stopped building and we will be sharing regular updates via Discord at the end of every sprint. Our next update should be ready in two weeks.
We have several substantial improvements in store. We’ll see the end soon after we finalize the plan. Unfortunately, we are dealing with third parties. We cannot control their response times so provided timelines are vague.

Here are the shareable tasks:
Waiting for release (unblocking release is in progress)
1. Introduced NextJs — improves the SEO of the website and allows sharing links to include metadata & pictures for a better UX
2. Added support for preserving selected (Collection) filters into the URL. The user can send their search to a friend while browsing the marketplace
3. Marketplace browse page is the new homepage now — improves SEO and UX
4. Added authentication to mint NFT/Collection endpoint
5. Added fluid grid to marketplace browse page — UI/Front end improvement
6. Added collection preview popup — UI/Look and feel update
7. Introduce automated testing framework — Improves code and product quality in the long run
Fixes and polishes (unblocking release is in progress):
1. Add check for disabling report button
2. Fixed issue with wrong history event dates being displayed
3. Fixed Social links buttons on mobile, they were not pointing to the websites
4. Remove the seconds from the offer countdown, for improving performance
5. Fixed big images resizing on buy

- ERC-1155 support
- Filter and Search Updates — we have to do some restructuring to add the trait filtering
- More search types and filtering
- Improving search performance and recommendations
- NextJS integration to support improved SEO for links to Collections, NFTs, and Users
