Research Fridays features faculty and graduate students from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications presenting current research to their colleagues. On March 10, 2023, Advertising Associate Professor Kasey Windels and doctoral student Sophia Mueller presented “How professionals’ identities shape their experiences in the advertising industry: Examining gender and sexual orientation.”

Using interviews with 51 advertising professionals, the presentation demonstrated how to gather interview data for multiple papers at once, and discussed the findings from papers on how women experience working in advertising and how LGBTQ+ people experience working in advertising.
