Husker Athletics
There’s no place quite like Lincoln, and specifically the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, when it comes to athletics. As a Division I university, Huskers compete at the highest level on the court, field, gym and track. No matter the season, you can keep up with Husker sports of all kinds. Beware, once you start, you’ll be a Husker fan for life.
Lincoln Stars — Hockey
Just down the street from campus is where the Lincoln Stars, a Tier I junior ice hockey team, hit center ice. Known for the electric fan atmosphere, Lincoln Stars games have become a staple for this city’s sports fans. Bring a friend, grab a snack and head over to the Ice Box!
Lincoln Saltdogs — Baseball
When the weather warms up, the baseball field is the perfect place to bask in the sun! The Lincoln Saltdogs are part of the American Association of Professional Baseball and put on a great show during the spring and summer.
No Coast Roller Derby
Roller derby has made its way into Lincoln! No Coast Roller Derby hosts two teams, the regional “Road Warriors” and the global skaters of “Mad Maxines.” Whether you are looking to get involved yourself or sit back and watch the action, make sure to keep you calendar open for the roller derby!
Nebraska Pride — Women’s Tackle Football
Bet you didn’t know Lincoln had a women’s tackle football team, did you? Nebraska Pride — the all-female football team — is working to make strides for women in sports, and specifically, those involved in football. This group is not only fun to watch, but exciting to cheer on as they break barriers for players.
