From Lincoln Exposed to the radio, you may have heard some Husker-made tunes in the capital city and beyond. Check out a few artists below and discover more music by Nebraska students and alums with our Student Sounds Spotify playlist.

Noah Floersch

Marketing major Noah Floersch fills the space between the pop, folk and alternative genres with lyrically and sonically dense music. He tries to make music that appeals to both the musician and the casual listener by adding interesting flavors, colors and ideas to his works.

Marro Lamar

Marro’s music is heavily influenced by the genius of R&B artists like Khalid and Ne-Yo. In making music, the political science major takes a raw, soulful approach to real life stories and combines it with pop melodies and beats that you can’t help but sing along to.

Death Cow

Since starting Death Cow in 2016 with fellow Huskers, Connor Worden has written music that takes inspiration from ’60s psych, ’90s punk and 2000s garage. Reed Tiwald (guitar), Mari Crisler (bass) and Sam Crisler (drums) cement the songs into organic expressions.

Ross Grieb

Ross Grieb, a marketing major, makes indie pop music about the thoughts and feelings college students go through.

Histrionic

Histrionic is a high-energy garage-punk band with equally fast and rough riffs along with lyrics about everyday feelings that still come off as raw. Aramara Quintos Tapia, second from right, is currently studying advertising and public relations at Nebraska.

Mitch Fisher

As an advocate for positivity and drive in every aspect of life, College of Journalism and Mass Communications student Mitch Fisher started using music to promote an uplifting and motivational message right out of high school. His songs come in a variety of tones and genres including acoustic and pop.

K1ngt

Global Studies major Tut Kailech is a refugee from South Sudan who wants to share a unique story. He started writing music in 2016 and is evolving to create a sound that fits his style, although he typically opts for hip hop sounds to compliment his delivery and deep voice. His influences include 50 Cent, Ab-Soul, Buddy, Aminé and J. Cole.

Oddits

Music major Andrew Sorensen (bass and vocals), computer science major Adrian Choate (drummer) and environmental restoration science major Kyle Thomas (guitarist) make up Oddits, a band out of Blair, Nebraska putting out zany rock arrangements.

Hannah Huston

2013 Nebraska grad Hannah Huston was teaching preschool when she auditioned for The Voice, making it to the finale. Today, the soul-inspired singer is making her own music.

The Wildwoods

The Wildwoods bring a pioneering sound to Americana Roots Music. Their heartwarming lyrics and vocals are wrapped in a style of music like no other. With influences from old time country masters and today’s indie/folk sound, the Wildwoods strive to make music that touches the souls, speaks of truth and shares inspiring stories of effortless love. Members include Nebraska music majors Noah and Chloe Gose, Noah Pinkman, Andrew Vaggalis and Nate Morris

blét is an atmospheric, indie rock outfit. Their music seeks to constantly explore new depths and landscapes of a layered sound, trying to incorporate tried-and-true sensibilities of classic songwriting into dreamy compositions of modern pop/rock. The band includes Spencer McCoy, College of Arts and Sciences alum Cole Keeton, Nebraska Business alum Brodie Morgan and College of Arts and Sciences alum Joe Kozal.

Jadyn Keller

Jadyn’s music is a combination of R&B and pop, with various R&B influences. A lot of passion, hard work and heart is put into the music and she hopes to make a positive impact, even starting on a small scale.

Threesome Egos

Together, Heladio Perez, philosophy major Pierce Bower, math major Colten Welch and his brother Bradyn Welch make up the psychedelic rock band Threesome Egos. Driven by idols like Arctic Monkeys and The Grateful Dead and mixing the punk aesthetics of Nirvana with the psychedelic rock of Tame Impala, the band focuses on promoting their free music and giving back to their community.

Tommy O’Keeffe

2018 Nebraska grad Tommy O’Keeffe developed his love for country music through his upbringing in a small town, listening to artists like Eric Church, Kenny Chesney and Kip Moore and gaining appreciation for Honky Tonk music.
