Top Specialty Dairy Store Ice Cream Flavors
July is National Ice Cream month which means an excuse to eat more ice cream (if you even needed one). And what better to celebrate with than ice cream from the UNL Dairy Store, which serves up premium ice cream handmade by students! They have over 100 ice cream flavors ranging from unique flavors like Maple Bacon to the classic Scarlet and Cream. Here are a few of our favorite specialty flavors.
Nifty 150
In February 2019, the Dairy Store celebrated the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s 150th with a special flavor: Nifty 150. It features a sweet strawberry ice cream with a strawberry swirl and dark chocolate chips.
Mammoth Dig
The Dairy Store dished up a special Mammoth Dig flavor at the University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall for Archie’s Late Night Party, making learning about astronomy, entomology and zoology all the more sweet.
Shark Week
The Dairy Store offered Huskers a chance to bite into Shark Week with a custom flavor featuring piña colada ice cream with a swarm of gummy sharks in every scoop. See how it was made.
Butterscotch Frost
What better way of welcoming former Husker football player Scott Frost back to Nebraska as head coach than with a new ice cream flavor!
Bounds to Be Good
This flavor pays homage to President Hank Bounds (who led the University of Nebraska system from 2015 to 2019). Starting with a chocolate base and mixing cookie pieces and marshmallows in, the name says it all.
