Univers Labs’ Super Looper app brings retro electro music to Adidas’ Brooklyn store
A little introduction to Super Looper
The Super Looper app was developed by some of the innovative creators right here at Univers Labs! Super Looper allows users to create and customise their own cool beats, inspired by retro electro music, which they can download and share with the hundreds of thousands of other Super Loops out there! With sounds from the greatest analogue synthesizers and drum machines by Moog, Yamaha, Roland and ARP, Super Looper lets everyone try their hand at composition.
Bringing Super Looper to the Brooklyn Scene
Way back in early April we were contacted by the wonderful team at Happy Lucky, a brand and design agency. They were working on a retail install for Adidas’ Brooklyn store for the promotion of their new Nite Jogger trainer. Adidas’ new Nite Jogger, which is inspired by its forerunner of the 1980s, mixes modern-day design and comfort together with cool retro style.
Adidas wanted to create an immersive in-store experience for its shoppers and reflect the retro theme in which the new Nite Jogger represented. The cool visuals which Super Looper offered, along with its super user-friendly approach allowed Adidas shoppers to create, save and share their very own retro beats through the Super Looper app!
NYC, here we come!
Needless to say, we were really excited to have our Super Looper app on show in Adidas’ Brooklyn store, so we had our Creative and Technical Directors fly out to New York to experience the event for themselves and see Super Looper in action!
It’s more than just a trainer, it’s more than just music
The launch of Adidas’ new Nite Jogger doesn’t just focus on the product itself but is looking more in-depth at what the trainer represents. Adidas has introduced Nite School, which aims to inspire the next generation of creators through their Nite School workshops, focusing on a range of different creative arts across New York.
Whilst our team were out there they got to see just some of the amazing events Adidas’ had on offer at their Brooklyn store, including workshops by the amazing Building Beats company. Building beats do incredible work, providing DJ and music workshops to underprivileged youths across New York City, they’re also fans of our Super Looper app too! Their work not only focuses on developing young people’s’ musical ability but also provides guidance and leadership to help them realise their creative ambitions and develop their skills for the future.
It was amazing to see something that was created by the innovators here at Univers Labs come to life in an immersive experience and represent the sounds of the ’80s. We hope everyone who tried their hand at making their own beats using the Super Looper app during the event enjoyed it as much as we do!
