My First City Experience
As a graphic design major, I love different art and typography, especially in the cities. This is a cool mural in an alleyway downtown. I love the lights above it and the colors of the mural.
Sabrina and I exploring downtown Denver. There’s a shopping area where there’s a lot of big-name retailers, as well as a gorgeous, picture-worthy church.
A view of a cool corner of some awesome downtown Denver skyscrapers.
This is a cool building with the name, Palace Hotel. The building reminds me of a shorter version of the Flatirons Building in New York City.
Our 3rd and final stop of the trip was exploring downtown Denver. I have only seen the outskirts of the city and never been downtown in a big city like this before, I was excited. Sabrina and I found a parking garage (where parking was very expensive as well) and made our way throughout downtown, taking as many pictures as we could.
I loved seeing all the different art, architecture, and fashion from the buildings and people all around downtown. They had a little shopping area, a trolly, and a lot of places to stop for food. I even experienced what it was like getting cat-called for the first time in a huge city like this. (Not enjoyable but the phrase the man used was slightly funny).
My dream is to move to Colorado after I finish school. After exploring these different cities and researching living prices, I was able to narrow down where I really want to live. I also discovered that I don’t like downtown Denver. Even though I am a city girl at heart with a love for the mountains (and Denver has both) I would much rather choose to live somewhere not so dirty and a bit closer to the mountains.
After exploring the city, we hopped in the car and made our way back home to Lincoln, NE. We had to make our trip rather shorter due to me having to work at my other internship Saturday night. I loved this trip and already am planning on when I can return to my favorite place.
