Though a free, quality primary and secondary school education for every child is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals — but I believe education not just a goal but the very SDGs’ motherboard, thus vital for all of the global goals.

Education is both a goal in itself and a means for attaining all the other SDGs. It is not only an integral part of sustainable development, but also a key enabler for it. That is why education represents an essential strategy in the pursuit of the SDG. In the words of Kolleen Bouchane, “Education has a unique power to catalyse gains in other areas. Very few, if any, health or economic interventions will be sustainable without gains in education.”

The sustainable solution is to UNLEASH Our education systems to respond to the pressing needs by defining relevant learning objectives and learning contents, introducing pedagogies that empower learners, and urging their institutions to include sustainability principles in their management structures. I guess what I am saying is, The UNLEASH concept should be replicated in our different countries on national and local community level. UNLEASH is a global innovation lab that brings together people from all over the world to transform 1,000 personal insights into hundreds of ideas, and build lasting global networks around the Sustainable Development Goals.
