Crowds at Marcahuamachuco

Each season Unleashers go to Peru’s most awe-inspiring pre-Incan fort, Marcahuamachuco, nestled 12000 feet up in the Andean foothills. This place is pure magic; misty green mountains, baby llamas, steaming hot-springs, astoundingly tall hats, wood-fired bread, and the best damn hot chocolate going. All the majesty and wonder of Machu Picchu and Cusco with zero other tourists.

The pictures and descriptions don’t do this place justice - the drive there and the major sites are stunning and the town itself is a gem. Last year, this trip to the mountains was most of our clients’ favourite experience — next to surfing obviously!
