Overview
In conjunction with the policy administrator CoverCompared (previously known as PolkaCover) we hereby confirm the claim filed by the Umbrella Network team.
Standard operating procedures are being followed to ensure a smooth process:
- Umbrella Network’s affected staking pool is temporarily frozen (any pending deposits/withdrawals will be invalid)
- Any pending changes/new additions to Umbrella Network’s policy have been temporarily frozen
The claim has been accepted by the UnoRe Claims Assessment Team and all the relevant details have been forwarded to the UnoRe Claims Adjudication Committee for a vote.
The final decision will be shared with the community on or before 24-Mar-2022.
Claim Payout Calculation
The claim payout amount has been calculated by applying the appropriate individual limit and deductible as defined in the coverage document to the overall coverage amount, along with subtracting the relevant TPA fee and penalty (if any).
Claim Payout Analysis
Our claims assessment team has ensured that 91% of affected wallet addresses are being covered and appropriately compensated as per the cover terms and conditions.

Claim Payout Processing
The claim payout amount will be processed from the protocol’s premium pool.
Our first claim payout shows the efficacy and robustness of the protocol’s risk management framework. The claim payout is being carried out without utilizing any of the protocol’s stalking pools ensuring zero capital erosion for the staked community.
Claim Process Timeline
The claim and payout process is the most important aspect for any insurance protocol to become successful, as it serves as a validation of the assurance provided. As an insurance protocol we have a fiduciary obligation to the insured and our staked community, which is why we want to ensure that every step is correctly executed and all stakeholders’ interests are secured. Hence, we’d truly appreciate the community’s support and patience during this process.
20-Mar-2022 (Sunday): Umbrella Network reports an incident of exploitation through the administrator on record.
Our claims assessment team starts the investigation.
21-Mar-2022 (Monday): Our claims assessment team accepts the claim and forwards the claim report to the claims adjudication committee.
Umbrella Network’s affected staking pool is temporarily frozen.
22-Mar-2022 (Tuesday): The claim report is shared with the community.
